1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how WorldAppsHub ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with the DocuScannerPro mobile application (the "App"). DocuScannerPro is a document scanner that lets you capture, enhance, recognize text in, and export your own documents. We designed the App to be local-first and privacy-respecting: you do not need to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, email address, or social profiles to use it.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to make the App work:
- Documents you create. Images you scan or import, the enhanced/processed versions, generated PDFs, any signatures you add, and text extracted through OCR.
- Document metadata. Titles you set, creation and update dates, page counts, format, and favorite/trash status.
- A device identifier. The App generates a random, anonymous device ID that is stored on your device and sent with requests so your documents can be associated with your device. This identifier is not linked to your real-world identity.
- Your settings. Preferences such as theme, default scan mode, filters, and export options.
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, precise location, or advertising identifiers, and the App contains no third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
3. Device Permissions
- Camera — used only when you actively scan a document, to capture the image.
- Photos / Media — used only when you choose to import an existing image from your device.
Permissions are requested contextually, at the moment you use the related feature, and you can change or revoke them at any time in your device Settings. The App does not access your camera or photos in the background.
4. How We Use Information
We use the information above solely to provide the App's features: capturing and enhancing scans, correcting perspective, applying filters, extracting text (OCR), generating and exporting PDFs/JPEGs, organizing your document library, and syncing your documents to your private cloud storage. We do not use your documents or extracted text for advertising, and we do not use your content to train machine-learning models.
5. Text Recognition (OCR)
When you request text recognition, the relevant page image is transmitted securely over HTTPS to our backend, which uses a third-party AI text-recognition provider (Google's Gemini API) to extract text. The extracted text is returned and stored alongside your document so you can copy, edit, and search it. The provider processes the image only to perform recognition and does not use it to train its models.
6. Storage and Sub-processors
Your scanned images, PDFs, and metadata are stored using secure managed object storage and a managed database, accessed only through our authenticated backend. Files are never placed behind public, guessable links. To operate the service we rely on trusted sub-processors, including cloud hosting/storage infrastructure and the OCR provider described above. These providers process data only as needed to deliver the service.
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your documents or extracted text with third parties for their own purposes. We may disclose information if required to do so by law or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the service.
8. Data Retention and Your Controls
Your documents remain available until you remove them. You are in control at all times:
- Delete any document to move it to Trash, then empty Trash to permanently remove it.
- Clear the local cache from Settings.
- Uninstalling the App removes locally stored data from your device.

9. Security
All network communication uses HTTPS. Files are held in secure object storage and reached only through authenticated backend requests, and sensitive values on your device are kept in secure device storage. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
10. Children's Privacy
DocuScannerPro is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.
11. International Users
Your information may be processed on servers located in countries other than your own. By using the App, you consent to such processing in accordance with this policy.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
